Dinara ground. It is, as a whole, placed within boundaries of Licko-Senjska
County Region.

State hunting ground VREBAC
No. IX/23 classifies as Mountain Dinara ground. It is, as a whole,
placed within boundaries of Licko-Senjska County Region.
Geographically situated 15 km further east from City of Gospic towards
Vrebac village, this area is predominantly mountain area of this region.
Ground area of this hunting site sums 8 838 hectares (cca 22 095 acres)
including 6 930 hectares (17 325 acres) of woods and 6 hectares (15
acres) of water surface. Woods create about 80% of this hunting ground,
and the rest combines meadows and grazing lands. Woods are composite
mostly of oak and hornbeam, furthermore of mountain beech and thicket.

The features of this hunting preserve are very hilly, predominantly
covered with woods. Combined of medium and large-sized massifs
it creates strongly manifested wavy line giving the terrain inclination
of 0 to 25% in average. Karst valleys can be found here quite
often and specifically shaped valleys and high plains characteristic
for this area. Height varies from 600 to 900 meters above see
level making Markov vrh (Marks Peak) placed at 1000 meters above
see level the highest peak. The described preserve, from geological
point of view, is placed on foundation of hard and pure Jurassic
calcareous rock, and further on limestone and dolomites exchanging
in patterns.
At southeast rises small river Jadrova. There is also Kovačica
spring, which creates small lake of 4 hectares (10 acres) size
and river Kovacica further down.

The climate is continental, characterized by cold winters
rich in precipitation, and dry and hot summers. Average temperature shows
8,4 Celsius and average annual precipitation reaches 1393 mm. Majority
of winds are ones coming from the north and southwest.
